WORLD BOOK DAY & BOOK FAYRE
We would like to congratulate everyone for dressing up so creatively for World Book Day this week. Everyone, including the staff, looked absolutely fantastic. We would also like to thank you for supporting our Book Fayre. With your purchases you raised £540.00 to buy new books for the school. What an achievement! Thank you so much for supporting this event. We will hopefully be holding another one later in the year. All the entries for the Book Cover Competition were very impressive and it was difficult to choose the winners. Photographs below show the winners with their prizes and of World Book Day.

PARENTS’ EVENINGS
As per the letter sent home this week, Parents’ Evenings are due to take place on Tuesday 19th March 2019 and Thursday 21st March 2019. To avoid congestion in the Key Stage areas, sheets will be up in the SCHOOL HALL, from next Monday morning, 11th March 2019. Year R sheets will be in their corridor area. Please remember due to the number of children and time slots available, every child will only be allowed ONE slot—not one per parent or one on Tuesday and one on Thursday. If you are unable to make Parents’ Evening, please speak to your child’s teacher to make alternative convenient arrangements. Please note the Year 6 times are slightly different to the rest of the school, as per the letter sent home. Thank you.

ABSENCE LINE
Please remember to ring the Pupil Absence Line on 525085 BEFORE 9.30am if your child is unwell and unable to come to school. The absence line is automated and so is available at any time to leave messages on. The office telephone is answered from 8.30am to 3.30pm. Alternatively you can contact school by email at office@summerfields.iow.sch.uk. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
