ATTENDANCE
Our target is for every child to be in school every day. The whole school attendance for January was 95.21%. Class attendance percentages for January were as follows:-
Ellen McArthur Class 92.20%
King Charles Class 92.89%
Queen Victoria Class 97.65%
Minghella Class 97.37%
Warrior Class 97.02%
Tennyson Class 96.02%
Charles Dickens Class 93.51%
Congratulations to Queen Victoria Class who were January’s Attendance Stars! They were presented with the trophy in Celebration Assembly today.

SCHOOL UNIFORM
As you are probably aware our embroidered school uniform items, such as jumpers, polo shirts, etc, are available from Kids & Co in Ryde and Tesco Direct. However Tesco have now sold their embroidery division to My Clothing. Attached to this newsletter is their current price list as well as details of how to purchase these items on-line. Please note My Clothing donate 5% of all purchases made back to school.

HOMEWORK POLICY
Unfortunately due to the problems we are currently experiencing with our website, the updated Homework Policy was not put on the website for consultation. However this has now been sorted and this policy can now be viewed. Please can any comments you wish to make be forwarded in writing via the school office by Friday 8th February 2019. Thank you.

SCHOOL OFFICE
Please note the opening times of the school office are 8.30am-3.30pm. Before, and after this time, the school telephone will not be answered. If your child is unwell please leave a message on the absence line stating the exact nature of your child’s illness OR email the school office at office@summerfields.iow.sch.uk. If you call outside of the office hours, please leave a message on the school ansaphone. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.

ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTERS
The easiest way to receive our weekly newsletter is by email. Every Friday at 3pm our newsletter will arrive in your inbox! This not only saves the environment, by using less paper, photocopying ink, etc, but ensures you have all the up to date news at your fingertips. It’s easy to sign up, just visit the school website at the address below and click on the link in the bottom right hand corner.

HEAD LICE
Unfortunately head lice still seem to be a problem in school as we have had numerous reported cases this week. Please can we ask that everyone take time this weekend to check their child’s hair for head lice and treat if necessary. Your co-operation in this matter would be very much appreciated.

HALF TERM FUN AT LORD LOUIS LIBRARY
Tickets are now available for a fun session on Friday 22nd February 2019 from 2.00pm-4.00pm at the Lord Louis Library. During the session children can make fluffy rain clouds, decorate daffodil biscuits and write hidden messages. The cost is just £1.00 per ticket, which can be purchased directly from the Lord Louis Library. Please note children under 8 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
