Our pupils had a fabulous time this week when Joffre White visited our school. He ran a KS2 assembly and workshops with Years 4 and 6. There was the opportunity to buy books signed by the author at a discounted price and several parents popped in after school with their children to buy a book and have a chat to Joffre.
We have updated our school rules and thought you would be interested in knowing them and supporting the school. They are: Be safe, Be ready, Be kind and Be respectful. We are challenging every member of school to do at least one kind thing a day. Would you like to join in too?
KNIFE AND FORK SKILLS
Please can you practise knife and fork skills with your children at home. Our lunchtime supervisors do a great job of helping our younger children to cut up their food but we do encourage all children to learn this skill early on. Your help with this is appreciated.
YEAR 6 CHRIST THE KING OPEN EVENING
Christ the King College welcome all Year 6 pupils and their parents to an open evening on Thursday 20th September 2018. For more information, please contact the Admissions Officer on 537070 or e-mail:email@example.com.
UNIVERSAL INFANT FREE SCHOOL MEALS
Did you know that if your child is in Year R, 1 or 2, they are entitled to have a free school meal every day? You do not have to apply or fill in any forms as every child in KS1 is eligible. Just let your child’s teacher know on the day that they would like a school meal or if your child is confident enough, they can let their teacher know when the dinner register is taken.
If your child is unwell and unable to come to school you must telephone the school absence line on 525085 before 9.30am. Alternatively, you can email the school office at: firstname.lastname@example.org again by 9.30am. We have to account for the whereabouts of every pupil every day, so we will contact parents of any child not at school that day. Please help us by letting us know that your child is unwell rather than us contacting you. Thank you for your support.
Lots of our reading scheme books are missing and we are now running low on complete sets. Please can you turn out your cupboards, book cases, etc., and return any that you find. Unfortunately in future if a book is not returned we will need to charge a replacement fee of £7.50. (Sorry but school can just not afford to keep on replacing them.)
- When bringing your child to school please do not wait in the foyer before 8:35am as the office staff are busy working
- We no longer keep a stock of water bottles or plastic cups in school. Please ensure your child brings a water bottle every day
- Please keep your speed to a minimum when driving near our school, there were some ‘near misses’ last term and we need to keep our children safe at all times
- Please park considerately by not parking in front of our neighbours driveways
Thank you for your co-operation and support in these matters.
