EXCITING NEWS!

We are very pleased to announce that our Year 2 teacher, Mrs Meads, is expecting her first child in June.  I’m sure you will all join school staff in congratulating her!  Mrs Meads is hoping to stay with us for as long as possible; however as soon as arrangements are in place for her maternity cover we will let Year 2 know.

STAY, READ, PLAY AND TALK!

Following the recent success of Open Classrooms, we are now inviting parents to come into class to read, talk or play with their own and other children in their child’s class.  The first of these sessions is next Tuesday 13th March 2018 at 2.30pm.  This is for parents of children in Years 1, 3 and 5.  Please could we ask that you don’t just “drop in” for 5 minutes at the end of the day; the idea is to have some time in the classroom.  The session for Years R, 2, 4 and 6 will take place on Thursday 15th March 2018.  Again the sessions will start at 2.30pm.  We look forward to seeing you then.

MULTI-SKILLS

On Wednesday after school Miss Parry and Mrs Phillips accompanied 8 Year 2 children to a Multi-Skills sports event held at Barton Primary School.  The children performed extremely well and were exceedingly well behaved.  Well done to everyone who took part.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

Tesco are now able to supply our embroidered uniform via Tesco Direct. It will be delivered to your home and you will gain Tesco points. Tesco will donate 5% of sales to the school.  Go to www.tesco.com/ues and look up the school. However unfortunately they are unable to supply PE t-shirts at the moment.  You can still also obtain uniform from Kids & Co in Ryde.

YEAR 6 SATS MEETING

Thank you to the parents who attended the Year 6 SATs meeting held by Mr Simpson on Wednesday after school.  We hope you found this session useful.  As promised, and for those parents who were unable to attend, useful information, including the list of useful websites can be found here, and a link has also been put on our Facebook page.

SCHOOL DINNER MONEY

Thank you to the parents who regularly top up their child’s school money account, keeping a check to see if they owe for any dinners or school trips etc.  There is however quite a large amount due for unpaid dinners.  Could we respectfully remind parents that dinner money needs to be paid in advance so that a debt does not occur.  We do understand that since School Money updated their website, there has been some confusion as to how to sign in.  If you need any assistance whatsoever, please do not hesitate to speak to Mrs Dyer in the school office.
