LITTER PICKING IN SCHOOL
We have been litter picking in the school grounds this week. It was very successful and there wasn’t much litter to be found. Please continue to keep our school tidy.
WEAR A HAT FOR THE HOSPICE
We raised an amazing amount of £142.00 for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice. Thank you to everyone who wore a hat and donated £1 to this worthy charity.
LATE PICKING UP FROM SCHOOL?
There have been several occasions this week where parents have been late picking up their children from school. We understand there maybe the “odd occasion” in an emergency when you are unable to collect your child on time. However after 3pm we do not have the staff available to look after children. Therefore children will be taken to Bright Sparks After School Club and they will charge you for the session.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB
Leaflets have been sent home this week with your child. If you wish to place an order, please return the form via the ‘green box’ located in the foyer. School cannot accept cash therefore please make payment by cheque payable to ‘Summerfields Primary School’ or complete your debit/credit card details on the payment slip. Deadline for orders is Friday 9th March.
YEAR 6 CLASS ASSEMBLY AND SATS MEETING
The re-arranged Year 6 class assembly will now take place on Wednesday 7th March at 2:45pm followed by a Year 6 SATs meeting at 3pm. Please come along to find out how you can prepare and support your child for the forthcoming SATs later in the year.
£200 DONATION FROM WAITROSE
Thank you to everyone who supported our school by visiting Waitrose during February and depositing the ‘green tokens’ into the Summerfields Library Resources collection box. We shall shortly receive a cheque for £200 from Waitrose to use on new library resources.
WORLD BOOK DAY
Well done to everyone who came to school dressed as their favourite book character, even though the weather was so cold. The children and staff looked fabulous and everyone was able to talk about the book their character was from.
A BIG THANK YOU!
We would like to thank the ‘Friends of Summerfields’ for donating £100 to each class for classroom resources and £100 for new playground equipment. The ‘Friends’ consist of few parents who give up their spare time to raise funds for our school and without them we would not benefit from all the ‘extras’ that school couldn’t possibly afford to buy. We would also like to thank parents, grandparents and relatives who come along and support the ‘Friends’ fundraising events.
