Þ £5 per family

Þ Each child under 16 years will receive a gift on finishing the walk

Þ Activity sheets—find clues along the walk

Þ Register before or on the day

Please support ‘The Friends’ by putting the date in your diary and coming along to join in the fun. More information to follow nearer the date.

TEDDIES, TOYS AND ACTION FIGURES

Please can we politely remind you to check that your child does not ‘sneak’ a teddy, toy or action figure in their pocket or bag to bring to school.  These items can get lost, cause arguments between peers and are the ideal place to harbour germs. Thank you for your co-operation.

PARENTS’ EVENINGS

Have you signed up to meet with your child’s teacher on Tuesday 20th or Thursday 22nd February 2018? Sign up sheets will remain outside classrooms until the morning of each parents’ evening.

TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE

We are unable to receive incoming replies to texts sent to parents. Please do not click the reply to sender button; if you need to reply please call the school office on 525085.

“WALK THE WIGHT IN SCHOOL”

As you may be aware, every other year all the children at Summerfields take part in ‘Walking the Wight’.  What this means is that throughout the school year, children will walk the equivalent of 26 miles around the playing field or playground at lunchtimes.  We have so far completed 20 miles with only 6 miles to go.  Congratulations children!

HEADLICE

We have had several reports of headlice throughout the school. Please can you take the opportunity during the half term holiday to check your child’s hair and treat if necessary.  It would be lovely for all children to return to school free of the little ‘beasties’!  For information about obtaining a free prescription headlice lotion please visit:

FAMILY LEARNING SESSIONS

Thank you to the parents who were able to attend the Year 2 family learning session.  Although most parents already felt quite confident doing Maths at home with their child, they enjoyed the session and went away with more activities and ideas to try out.  The children like having their parents in school and were able to show off the Maths skills they have been practising in class. “Knowing what they are learning at the moment and being able to support at home is a big help.” Photographs of the sessions will appear on our website and our official Facebook page.
