SHAPING NEWPORT PROJECT

The Shaping Newport Project are working with the council Regeneration Team, Newport Parish Council and the Newport Business Association to collect as much information, opinion, experience and comment as possible on the good and the bad of visiting, living and working in Newport. It is very important that they listen to the views of schools as they represent such a significant population within the community of Newport. The views of students and schoolchildren are essential if they are to make this survey effective and useful. If you would like to complete the questionnaire please visit:

https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/shapingnewport.

All of this feedback will be used to develop new projects and new partnerships for positive change in the town and in the parish.

CHRISTMAS/WINTER JUMPER DAY

Don’t forget we are holding our Christmas and Winter Jumper Day on Tuesday 19th December 2017.  Your child can wear a festive or winter themed jumper to school (instead of their school jumper) for £1.00 donation.  All other school uniform must be worn!

SICKNESS AND DIARRHOEA

Unfortunately over the past few weeks we have had several children off with sickness bugs.  Please remember that children should not come to school for 48 hours after the last time they were sick or had an upset tummy.  We are trying to prevent these bugs spreading to the whole school so we would really appreciate everyone abiding by these rules.   Thank you.

CHRISTMAS LUNCH AND PARTY DAY LUNCH

Just a reminder that all Christmas and Party Day lunches had to be booked and paid for in advance.  Therefore if you have not ordered a Christmas lunch (Tuesday 19th December) or a Party Day lunch (Thursday 21st December) for your child, please remember to send them in with a packed lunch from home.

“PHIL THE BAG”

Thank you to everyone who donated items for “Phil the Bag” this week. We shall let you know the amount raised for school as soon as we know.

COUGHS AND SNEEZES

We have a lot of children off at the moment with bad colds and chest infections.  In the “old days” we used to say “coughs and sneezes spread diseases, stop them with your handkerchiefs”!  Can you firstly explain to your child what a handkerchief is!  Then teach them at least to put their hand over their mouth when they cough.  Thank you.

SAINSBURYS ACTIVE KIDS

A big ‘thank you’ to everyone who collected Sainsburys Active Kids vouchers this year. We were able to order lots of new equipment to replenish our school P.E. resources.

WORD OF THE WEEK

Unperturbed—calm, tranquil, composed, cool and untroubled.  It also means unruffled and serene.
