IMPORTANT DATES FOR YOUR DIARIES

The events page on this website has been updated to show important dates for your diaries for this half term up to Christmas.  Thank you.

RECEPTION & KEY STAGE 1 PRODUCTION

Plans are currently underway for our annual Reception and Key Stage 1 production.  However Year 2 are in need of a camel and a donkey costume!  If anybody has either of these that they are willing to lend school, please see the school office.  Thank you.

SCHOOL MEALS

Please remember if your child would like to order a jacket potato an orange slip MUST be completed including choice of topping.  In addition if they would like the vegetarian option, a GREEN slip should be completed.  Both the vegetarian option and jacket potatoes are “cooked to order” so if no slip is completed, unfortunately your child will not get their choice.  Slips are available in the school lobby.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB

Every family should have received a Scholastic Book Club leaflet last week.  Please can any orders be returned to school by Friday 17th November 2017 at the latest via the “Green Box”.  Payment can be made by credit/debit card or cheque—no cash please.  If you have not received a leaflet, please ask at the school office.

“TYPE ONESIE DAY”

Thank you to everyone who supported our “Type Onesie” day today in aid of World Diabetes Day.  Donations can still be given to the school office and we will let you know next week how much was raised.  Your continued support of our fund raising events is very much appreciated.

UNIFORM

Please can we respectfully remind parents that all children should now be in “winter” uniform.  Therefore everyone should be wearing only GREY socks or tights.  Children should be wearing plain black shoes or boots and not trainers or “fashion” boots with built up heels.  PE kits should be in school EVERY DAY.  We are finding lots of children are missing all their PE lessons because they do not have their kit in school.

In addition some children are still not coming to school with a coat, despite the weather being very cold.  Please therefore ensure that your child brings their coat and PE kit to school every day so that they are ready to take part in learning in and out of the classroom.

Remember all items of clothing including hats, gloves and scarves need to be named.  Thank you.

FAMILY LEARNING

Thank you to the parents who have taken the time to reply to the various letters about Family Learning at Summerfields.  Miss Vine is currently in the process of arranging new sessions for this term and the feedback received so far from parents is invaluable in tailoring sessions to parents’ needs.  It is not too late to send back your forms so please return them via the “Green Box” in the school lobby.  Thank you.

ISLE OF WIGHT FOODBANK

We have received a “thank you” certificate from the Isle of Wight Foodbank for the donations we made following our Harvest Assembly.  125kg of food was donated in total – thank you for your generous donations.

“PHIL THE BAG”

Just a reminder to start collecting for “Phil the Bag” which takes place on Wednesday 22nd November 2017.  ALL donations must be placed between the two black gates by 8.45am at the latest.  Thank you.
