GOODBYE AND GOOD LUCK!
We wish all our Year 6 pupils the very best as they leave us today to go to Secondary School in September. We hope their parents and carers all enjoyed their Leavers’ Assembly as much as we did and congratulations to all the award winners. Congratulations also go to Erin who won the Millie Moody Kindness Cup and Logan who won the Mr Snell Reading Champion Award.
We sadly also say “goodbye” to Mrs Nikki Woodhouse who leaves us today. Mrs Woodhouse has worked at Summerfields for over 17 years and we know all the staff and children will really miss her. We look forward to seeing everyone else back at school on TUESDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER 2017. Have a great holiday everyone!
Thank you to everyone for all the lovely cards and gifts that have been given to the staff at Summerfields. We really do appreciate such kind gestures.
Below are the House Point totals for this half term:-
Arctic House 1648
Atlantic House 1630
Indian House 1050
Pacific House 1664
Therefore the champions for this half term were Pacific House. Congratulations!
From September Chartwells will no longer be the school meal provider at Summerfields. Caterlink have taken over the responsibility, however unfortunately at present we have no information that we can distribute to parents regarding the change of provider. As soon as we are given any information such as menus and the cost of school meals, we will forward this on to you. Can we please respectfully remind parents that from September ALL meals must be paid for in advance via www.schoolmoney.co.uk. You must therefore provide your child with a packed lunch if your dinner account is not in credit.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who have returned the reply slips enclosed with their child’s school report. School really do appreciate the time taken to complete these slips, your feedback is always welcome and listened to. On behalf of all the staff at Summerfields, thank you so much for the very kind comments received.
YEAR 2 CAKE SALE
Thank you for supporting the Year 2 cake sale this week. They made £114.10! Thank you to all the parents and staff that took the time to make such beautiful cakes for us to sell. The money raised has gone to their class charity, the Isle of Wight Zoo.
One morning this week, we actually achieved 100% attendance by the WHOLE SCHOOL! Well done everyone, this is a great achievement. Let’s hope next year we can achieve this on a regular basis.
POMPEY IN THE COMMUNITY
Pompey in the Community will again be running their ever popular after school football club on Tuesdays from 12th September 2017. Places MUST be booked and paid for in advance by contacting them directly on 02392 728899. Please see flyer for full details.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the raffle school held this week to win day passes to Robin Hill and Blackgang Chine. The winners have been notified and we raised £50.00 towards classroom reading resources. As ever, we are very grateful for the support parents give to all our fund raising activities.
