REQUEST FOR DONATIONS

If you are having a summer clear out and you have any toy cars, pushchairs for dolls etc. we would love to have them for playtimes. We are also looking for games like Scrabble and Boggle—all donations mean we can save our money for things like the ingredients for Healthy Eating Week.  Thank you—Ms Wood.

SPORTS DAY

Parents, grandparents and relatives are invited to come along and watch Sports Day on Wednesday 5th July, from 12 noon. You are welcome to bring along a picnic to enjoy with your child on the field (weather permitting).  Sports day events will then start at 1pm.  Please remember your child will need to bring a packed lunch to school unless you have already pre-ordered one.  NO HOT meals will be available.

UPDATE ON ATTENDANCE

On several days this week the whole school almost achieved 100% attendance, well done to everyone. Unfortunately we didn’t quite make 100% due to one child who was taken out of school for a holiday.

COUNTRY DANCING

Some of the Country Dancing club members performed their Maypole dances at the IOW County Show at Northwood. They were perfect: their dancing and behaviour were a credit to our school.  Thank you to Mrs Stiles and to the supporting families who went along to watch.

NEWPORT PRIMARY GAMES

Last Friday, Years 5 and 6 ventured to Medina College to take part in the Newport Primary Games.  We competed against 6 other schools with over 200 competitors.  The children took part in Tag Rugby, Kwik Cricket, Handball and Basketball.  Everyone had a great time and the children were a credit to Summerfields. Well done!
