POMPEY IN THE COMMUNITY FOOTBALL

If you would like your child to join an after school football club run by Pompey in the Community please visit www.pompeyitc.co.uk or call to book a place on 02392 728899. The club will run on Tuesdays after school from 3-4pm for six weeks; 28th February to 4th April 2017.  Children from all year groups can take part.  Places are limited therefore please book early to avoid disappointment.

ATTENDANCE

School attendance matters—at Summerfields we want every child to achieve at least 96.2% or higher attendance in order for them to make the best progress possible.

Since September 2016, 66 sessions have been missed due to medical appointments, 81 children have arrived late between 8:45am and 9:00am (total of 382 minutes) and 20 children have arrived late after 9:00am (total of 38 minutes). 210 sessions have been missed due to children being taken out of school for a family holiday. All absences and lates to school do impact on children’s learning.

Please help your child to maintain good attendance by booking doctor, dentist and optician appointments either in the school holidays, in the afternoon after school or at weekends.  Please provide the school with an appointment card/letter if your child needs to leave school for appointments, such as hospital appointments.

PARENTS’ EVENINGS

Parents’ evenings will take place next week on  Tuesday 14th and Thursday 16th February 2017.   If you haven’t done so already, please remember to sign up for an appointment time. Sign up sheets will remain outside classrooms until the actual parents’ evening.
