DEVELOPMENT DAY

Please don’t forget school is closed to pupils this coming Monday, 28th November 2016.  Thank you.

RECEPTION & KEY STAGE 1 PRODUCTION

Don’t forget to return your slips to order tickets for our production of Little Robin’s Red Vest!  All initial requests should be received by TUESDAY 29TH NOVEMBER 2016.  Please remember in the first instance every family will only be allowed 2 tickets, any spare tickets will be allocated on a “first come, first served” basis after 29th November 2016.  Once your tickets have been allocated,  you will then be requested to pay for them via www.schoolmoney.co.uk.  If you have any queries please do not hesitate to speak to the office.

HOUSE POINTS!

Well done to Talia in Year 5 who is our first pupil to gain her Bronze Award this year!  Congratulations Talia—come on everyone else!

SICKNESS

Unfortunately over the past few weeks we have had lots of children off with sickness bugs.  Please remember that children should not come to school for 48 hours after the last time they were sick.  We are trying to prevent these bugs spreading to the whole school so we would really appreciate everyone abiding by these rules.  The same rule applies if your child has a bout of diarrhoea.  Thank you.

CHRISTMAS ACTIVITES & EVENTS

By now every family should have received the letter sent out last week about Christmas activities and events.  If you have not received this letter, please ask at the school office.  Please can we request that all slips and payments be made on-line by the deadline.  This is a very busy time of year for everyone and unfortunately we just don’t have the time to “chase-up” parents who have not returned the slips or made payments.  Thank you.

FRIENDS OF SUMMERFIELDS

On Tuesday 29th November 2016, the Friends of Summerfields are holding a “pre-loved” sale after school at 3.00pm.  There is a box in the foyer for donations of good quality second-hand school uniform that you no longer require.

The Friends of Summerfields have organised the ever popular “Phil the Bag” for Wednesday 30th November 2016.  Please can all donations be placed outside school by the railings by 8.45am at the latest.  Any plastic bag  or bin bag will do—just fill it with unwanted clothes and shoes.

Please remember to come along to the Christmas Fayre on Friday 2nd December 2016.  There will be lots and lots of stalls and children will be able to meet Father Christmas!  The Fayre takes place from 6.00pm-8.00pm.

COUGHS AND SNEEZES

We have a lot of children (and staff) off at the moment with bad colds and chest infections.  In the “old days” we used to say “coughs and sneezes spread diseases, stop them with your handkerchiefs”!  Can you firstly explain to your child what a handkerchief is!  Then teach them at least to put their hand over their mouth when they cough.  Thank you.

ADULT COMMUNITY LEARNING—CHRISTMAS WORKSHOPS

There are various Christmas Workshops for adults taking place at the Community Learning Centre, Westridge including Personalised Crackers, Table Centrepieces and Fabric Place Settings! For details contact the Community Learning team on 817280 or www.iwcommunitylearning.ac.uk.
