QUEEN’S OFFICIAL BIRTHDAY

On Friday 10th June 2016 we hope to invite all parents  to join us for a Celebration Picnic at 12 noon, in honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday.  All we ask is you learn the words to the National Anthem and help your children to learn them, by heart, by that date.  More information to follow nearer the time.

CBBC JUNIOR BAKE OFF

Junior Bake Off is looking for Britain’s Best Young Bakers!  CBBC is looking for junior bakers between 9 and 12 years of age across the country to take part in the brand new Junior Bake Off.  For full details parents/guardians should visit thegreatbritishbakeoff.co.uk/applications.  For any enquiries please contact them on 0207 067 4820 or email juniorbakeoff@loveproductions.co.uk.

MAY DAY CELEBRATIONS

Please remember our May Day Celebrations are on Friday 29th April 2016 at 1.30pm. Unfortunately due to Health and Safety restrictions the school hall can only accommodate a certain number of people. Therefore this is again a “ticketed” event. If you do not have a ticket, then unfortunately you will be unable to attend. Whilst we understand this is disappointing for parents, we do not know of any fairer way to distribute tickets.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARIES

Please see the events page on the website for important dates this half term. These are provisional dates and are therefore subject to change.

DINNER MONEY

Please can we respectfully remind everyone that school dinners MUST be paid for in advance and not arrears.  Unfortunately at the present time school does have a large amount of money outstanding.  Therefore from now on, if a debt of £10.75 or more is accumulated (the cost of one week’s dinners) your child will not be able to have any further dinners until the amount owing is paid.  A note will be sent home and a text confirming that a packed lunch should be sent in with your child the following day.  School dinners should be paid for at www.schoolmoney.co.uk. Thank you for your co-operation.

SAINSBURY’S ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHERS

Don’t forget we are still collecting the Active Kids vouchers.  The collection box is in the school lobby.  Don’t forget to ask your friends and family for their vouchers too!

STAFF CAR PARK

Please can we remind parents NOT to park in the staff car park.  T367 WDL parked there on Monday—it is VERY dangerous.  Thank you for your co-operation.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB

Leaflets for the Scholastic Book Club have been sent home this week.  Please can any orders be returned to school by Wednesday 4th May 2016.  Payment should be by cheque or debit/credit card.  Please DO NOT send in cash.  Can all orders be placed in an envelope via the “Green Box”.

GIRLS FOOTBALL WEEK!

On Saturday 30th April 2016, to celebrate Girls Football Week, Shanklin Football club invite you to a morning of matches, penalty shootouts and fun!  The event runs from 10am-12noon and is for all girls aged between 5-15 and is just £1.00 per person.  Refreshments are available in the clubhouse for spectators! BINGO!

Just a reminder that Bingo is next Friday 29th April 2016 at 7.00pm.  This is being organised by the Friends of Summerfields to raise funds for your children!  Please come along and support this event.  Bring your own nibbles and drinks.  Tickets are £5.00 per book with a free dabber.

Can you put these words into a sentence?
