ATTENDANCE TROPHY

Congratulations to Great Britain Class who are March’s Attendance Stars!  They win the trophy this month as they have achieved 97.50% attendance.  The whole school attendance for March was 94.37%, which is below our target of 96.2%.  Class attendance percentages for March were as follows:-

England Class                              87.69%

India Class                                     96.02%

China Class                                   96.26%

Australia Class                              94.00%

Kenya Class                                   93.98%

Peru Class                                      95.09%

Great Britain Class                       97.50%

 

HOUSE POINTS

Each half term the “House Points” from each class are collected and the House with the most points wins the trophy!  Below are the House Point totals for last half term:-

Arctic House 755

Atlantic House 779

Indian House 608

Pacific House 750

Therefore the champions for the last half term were Atlantic House.  Congratulations!

 

TRAINEE TEACHERS

We have two trainee teachers in school for the summer term, Miss Chappell and Miss Kirby who will be working throughout the school. We wish them well in school.

LOOK AFTER YOURSELF WEEK

We have had lots of exciting visitors to school who spoke to the children about lots of interesting subjects including visits from police officers and firemen. We hope the children have enjoyed the special visitors to our school.

 

TRIP TO BEMBRIDGE BY YEARS 1 AND 2

What a glorious sunny day it was on Tuesday, the children had a wonderful time and enjoyed using their new fishing nets! Thank you to the adult helpers that accompanied us. on the trip.

 

WATER BOTTLES IN SCHOOL

Please ensure that you child has a water bottle in school especially as the weather is warming up.  We have a water fountain in school for children to top up their bottles during the day. You can also buy a water bottle from the school office for 35p.

 

FRIENDS OF SUMMERFIELDS

Reminder of a Bingo evening for adults only on Friday 29th April 2016.  £5 entry which includes a bingo book and a dabber.  Please bring you own drinks and nibbles on the night to enjoy.  Please support our ‘Friends’ on this fundraising event

 

SUMMER SCHOOL UNIFORM

Please be reminded of the following uniform requirements for boys and girls for the summer term.

Boys:

Dark grey shorts or trousers

Jade embroidered polo shirt

Navy blue crew necked embroidered sweatshirt

Plain black shoes

Grey Socks

Girls:

Short sleeved dress—light blue, light pink, lilac or yellow which can be striped or checked

Navy blue embroidered cardigan

Plain black shoes (no open toes)

White socks

Logoed polo shirts, sweatshirts and cardigans can be purchased from Kids & Co in Ryde.

Key Stage 1 Spelling of the Week is “push”.
