MEALTIME SUPERVISORY ASSISTANT

We are looking to appoint a “relief”  Mealtime Supervisory Assistant to cover immediately for a few weeks and then to be available as and when required to cover staff absence.

Ideally you would enjoy working with children as well as having a good relationship with school.  If you are interested in applying, or know someone who would be, please speak to the office.

HEAD LICE

Unfortunately we are still finding that we are having lots of cases of head lice reported to school.  In order to try and stop them being spread so easily, please can we ask that girls’ hair is tied back into a ponytail and if possible a plait.  Girls can still wear appropriate headbands to hold their hair back off their faces as well, as long as they are plain.  Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.

WELCOME!

We would like to welcome our new hamster to Summerfields.  Her name is Pepper.  If you have signed up to  help look after her, please check Ms Wood’s door for the rota.  She must be fed every lunchtime and cleaned out once a week, probably on a Wednesday.

MORNING ENTRY TO SCHOOL

Please remember EVERYONE should now be entering and leaving school via the main entrance.  The sides gates MUST NOT be used to either enter or leave the school in the morning by parents with children in Key Stage 1.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARIES

India Class Assembly —  Thursday 17th March 2016

China Class Assembly —Thursday 21st April 2016

Both these assemblies take place at 2.50pm.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

EASTER BINGO

Don’t forget the ‘Friends of Summerfields’ are holding Easter Bingo after school next Friday 18th March 2016 from 3.00pm to 4.00pm.  The cost is £2.50 per book of tickets which includes a free dabber!  Please note ALL children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Please come along and support this fun event.

WALK THE WIGHT

Thank you to the 46 families that have registered their children for the Schools Walk The Wight.  Registration is now closed.  All children at Summerfields will have completed the 26 miles shortly.  Everyone who has registered will then receive a medal after Walk the Wight has taken place.  You do not need to walk on the day but you will have your number if you wish to take part.

UNIFORM REMINDER

Please remember that unfortunately school no longer keeps any supply of school uniform to sell.  All Summerfields uniform items can be purchased from Kids and Co in Ryde.  We do though have a small supply of book bags which can be purchased for £4.50.  Thank you.

ARE YOU UP TO DATE?

It is VITAL that we have your up to date contact details in case of emergency.  Please make sure that if you change your  mobile phone, home or work numbers that you let school know immediately.  Please also make sure that any other contact details we hold for your child are also kept up to date in case you are unavailable.
