CHRISTINGLE AT ST. PAUL’S CHURCH

The Christingle was a great success and the children behaved impeccably. A recording of the service is available to listen to or download on the St. Paul’s Church Website.

ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL DUE TO SICKNESS

If your child is ill and unable to attend school due to illness, please contact school by 9:15am at the latest.  The school’s new telephone system has an absence line whereby you can leave a message giving the reason for your child’s absence, alternatively please e-mail the school at office@summerfields.iow.sch.uk. , again by 9:15am.

Please ensure that you contact school every day that your child is absent, not just on the first day of illness.  We also require a yellow sickness form to be completed on your child’s return to school otherwise the absence will be marked as unauthorised.  Thank you for your co-operation.

CAROL SINGING

Years 5 and 6 have visited Vectis House and the Earl Mountbatten Hospice this week to sing Christmas Carols to the residents.  Thank you to all the children who sang beautifully and were a real credit to the school.

HANDWASHING

Can parents and carers please take the opportunity over the Christmas break to show your children how to wash their hands thoroughly. Could children be reminded of the importance of washing their hands after they have been to the toilet and before eating. This will hopefully reduce the spread of germs at home and in school. Thank you.
