FRIDAY CELEBRATION ASSEMBLY

Please note for the next half term Celebration Assembly will take place at 2.45pm on a Friday and not 2.35pm.

ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL

Please remember that school will close at 1.30pm on Friday 12th June 2015.  We will be open AS NORMAL on Monday15th June 2015 but remember to allow extra time for your journey on both of these days due to the volume of traffic and the “one-way” system.

The Mountbatten Estate Residents’ Association will be issuing your Access only permits. The permit will enable you to access the barriers for dropping/picking up your children to and from school only. You will find representatives of the Residents Association at school on Monday 1st June from 2:30—3:00pm and Tuesday 2nd June from 8:30—9:00am and 2:30—3:00pm

WALK THE WIGHT 2015

Nigel Hartley, Chief Executive from the Earl Mountbatten Hospice has sent a letter to school thanking all the walkers that took part in the Walk The Wight this year.  The Hospice is such an important charity here on the Island and it’s wonderful that children show their support for them by doing something amazing, so very well done!

INTERNET/SOCIAL MEDIA SAFETY FOR CHILDREN

There is an excellent website for parents to help you keep your children safe on line as well as on social media.  It has been set up by the NSPCC.  It is www.net-aware.org.uk.

FRIENDS OF SUMMERFIELDS DISCOS

Thank you to the Friends for organising the discos on Friday and to the parents for supporting this event.  They raised £300.00 towards the whole school trip at the end of the year.  Well done to everyone concerned.

SICKNESS

If your child has a hospital or Doctor’s appointment during the school day, it would be really useful if you could provide school with a copy of their appointment card or letter to put in their file.  As you are probably aware, we are inspected very regularly by the Education Welfare Officers who ensure that we are following the correct procedures.  Thank you.
